I have a ccw in Florida and I think covers a lot of states .
Doesn't cover the west coast, or most of the north-east.
Go to this website http://www.usacarry.com/concealed_ca...city_maps.html and click on your state to see where your permit is honored.
Utah is a good one to get, covers 35 states. You don't have to be a resident, you just have to take a half-day class with a certified instructor, who then does the fingerprinting and photos and sends it in.
I'm a WA resident and I got my OR and UT permits in addition to WA. Covers me for most of the places I might want to travel to/through.

I must say, this fingerprinting episode went much better for me as opposed to my previous one. I was soooooo happy to walk out the courthouse front door rather than be escorted to that barred room...lol
Resurrecting this thread.
In Oregon, they just do a background check. Do not have to fire your weapon. Also, you do not have to certify on your weapon either, you can carry whatever you want.
My daughter wanted to start carrying while she was at school after the UCC shootings. I checked into it and the school she attends bans firearms on the campus. But after further research, I found that their policies violate state law. An individual was arrested on their campus back in 2009 and he fought the charges based on Oregon state law. The state appeals court agreed with him stating that the university system had no authority to create policies that conflicted with state law.
The university system here has ignored that ruling and continues to try and ban firearms. They changed the wording slightly, and now state the penalty for carrying a firearm is negligible at best. So in other words, they know they have no authority to do what they are doing, but they are going to try and manipulate the student body with dishonest policies to support their political view.
I told her to go ahead and carry, and I will support her if anything comes of it!!! (she has her concealed weapons permit)
I totally agree...Tim...
What did she get???
Don't Run Out Of Talent
She carries a M&P shield 9mm.
I am actually thinking of getting one. Nice gun.
When I carry, I carry my PX4 storm (full size). Too big but love shooting it.
Lara has a LC9. Dont really like that one, but is small and easy to carry.
I use the XDS 45 or the SR 40c. My wife has the LC380. All are now off roster guns. CA sucks!!!
I see now that I can get the lc380 converted to a lc9mm. Ruger sells a kit for it now.
