Just a heads up for anyone planning on staying at Pirates Cove !! They require proof of insurance for you tow vehicle and trailer !!

Barb's boss is arriving for a site visit on Friday. So we will have to change from Quartzite to either Dumont or Dove springs which place is better?

Barb's boss is arriving for a site visit on Friday. So we will have to change from Quartzite to either Dumont or Dove springs which place is better?

Both have their strong points. Dumont has dunes, Boy, does it have dunes! Maybe 4-5 times as much sand, both in size and an height of dunes, as sand mountain. Also has a fun ride out to the Date Farm, and 3 or 4 cool old cabins (not 2, Ed!) to explore. Dove Springs does not have any sand, but has a bigger variety of rides and destinations. Burro Schmidt tunnel, Bickel mining camp, Mac Gyvers cabin, and the petroglyphs. Just my opinion.

At any rate Terry, I sure hope we are still there whenever you join us!!!

Not sure how many days you are coming down for but you may be able to come to both places !! We are only staying at Dumont then we are going to Dove Springs . Dumont is further from home and Dove springs is closer to home. We kind of drive by Dove Springs on the way home from Dumont !!
