Yah, in the shade and in the trees, there was up to 4 or 5 inches. It snowed about 6" on Sunday, so there will be some snow at the higher elevations. Hopefully the drifts won't be too deep.

Its gonna be REALLY COLD around here, like highs of 30 and lows around 10 this next week in Reno, so not much snow melting going on either. My son rides the area almost weekly it seems. He was gonna go today but went to Moon Rocks as he said the canyons, in the trees, and the summits and high ridges had reasonable snow a few days ago.
Good, that means the mud is frozen

Oh boy do I HAAAAAAAAATE MUD! We were on a ride in the Pine Nuts south of VC a few years ago and hit some red clay mud on I think its Sunrise Pass road for about a 1/4 mile. It would literally cake up to 6+" thick. We all had mud coming off our RZR's for a YEAR afterwards from hidden places you missed to clean. NEVER again, I'll turn around and go home.
Everybody that attended silverstrike ride last year, knows all about that section of road that your talking about. We got caught in a downpour coming back from Como.
