Having lived in NV since 1992, I have found that Oct/Nov weather can often be mild. This winter was the exception, however. Looking at the Farmer's Almanac regional forecast for the October 2016 timeframe it said this:
"Winter temperatures will be much above normal, with precipitation near normal in the north and below normal in the south. The coldest periods will be in mid- and late December, late January, and mid- and late February. Snowfall will be above normal near Reno but below normal elsewhere, with the snowiest periods in early and mid-December, early January, and mid- and late February."
I also read that we will be going back into a La Niņa weather cycle, which calls for less precip during the winter months. Maybe this October will be t-shirt weather in the high desert.
This was last year at Cold Springs after we left SMhttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...5c8caefcd1.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...d25641810b.jpghttp://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...231cd67138.jpg
