2 or 4 in sand ?
I have a 14' RZR 900 4 seater and run in 4WD while i'm duning in because I don't have paddle tires. It sure feels like I have better performance and control. Am I causing any damage to my RZR?

I run 4wd with paddles too. The CanAm has a little different drive system than the RZR and seems to like being in 4wd even on the dirt.

When I'm in the sand I always use 4x4 .

I probably drive in 4 wheel drive about 50 % of the time in the dunes , even with paddle tires !!

I use 4wd almost anytime I'm not on hard pack. It seems to help save my back tires. You will notice that you can't climb near as well in the dunes without 4wd and no paddles.

To answer part of you question , no you are not causing any damage by driving in 4 wheel .

Most of the time 4 wheel, it's easier on the drive train in the long run

I was told to run 4 wheel drive in the sand by the dealer. I tried it both ways and 4 wheel drive is the best in the sand it stays on top of the sand and turns better.
