Thanks to Cliff for hunting down the info. The new engine is 112 hp and has a 5 Speed manual transmission.

So that comes out to about 112HP with a manual. I wonder how that will compare with the horsepower losses that a CVT transmission gets. It looks like there are 4 different models maybe?

I agree. When I had my quad (Yamaha Big Bear 400), it was a five speed and all my friends had CVT. I could keep up with them as long as I was perfect on the shift points , but the CVT is always in the "right gear".

I wonder how efficient they will be at putting the power to the ground vs a belt drive?

I have heard that a standard manual loses about 10% while a CVT is about 30%. I have no proof. Just what I have heard.
