I was entertaining between the Yaesu 7800 and 8800, unable to decide whether to take low or high road, finally PMed you, and followed your endorsement of the 8800.....6' coax with Cobra dual band 1/2 wave antenna....the Db is higher on vhf than what Rugged advertises their 1/2 wave at!

The amateur radio VHF transmit on is 144-148 and all of Ruggeds frequencies are 151-156, so I can hear everything all are saying, but can't transmit. BLR is always talking chit about me and the Rhino on rides knowing I can hear her but can't respond in retaliation!...lol

I didn't realize the transmit frequency didn't include Ruggeds until I actual READ THE BOOK!!...ha-ha.....when we get back home, will do the MARS/CAP on it.
    LOL..
We all had fun talking chit about the Rhino till it out performed both the RZR Turbo and the RZR 1000 on 2 of the hill climbs...lmao

Bentronics in redding has the Baefong handheld radios for $69. They will program it with whatever frequency you want. They are identical to the rugged radio for a fraction of the cost. Just FYI.

I can't believe I went that long without a radio... it was nice to know when we had traffic coming at us on the trails or where we were about to turn...made the ride so much more enjoyable and I also got to listen to my tunes...

Mine will be here tomorrow. We'll have to see if we can hear each other house to house Ed.
