I guess my next question is, is their any place I can camp if I dont get to the bridge in time. I coming from Roseburg Oregon. Hoping to leave at 5 pm. Looks like a 4 hour drive at best. Pulling a 32 foot trailer with 2 side by sides inside. Going over Siskyou's pass and a lot of other high elevation climbs. So I think 4 hours is not realistic for me. And I have to unload the Side by sides to be able to sleep. So would like a some what secure spot.

Kevin I'm not sure of a place to stay in Shasta city, since you need to unload..hopefully someone can chime in from down there

Security said 10:00 firm, they said others have stayed briefly at Kennett boat ramp. Officially not over night camping, but if you are there at 10 and leave at 6 when they open dam crossing, you should be fine. Of course this is only a comment from Dam Security, not a recommendation! LOL!!

The Dam's parking lot is really big , but don't know if they would let you over night it there, you could call them.

We normally don't leave before 10 on a ride unless we go to trinity Lake which will probably be on Sat.
