agree Mike, theres never a bad time to go there... never been to border town but lots of great views from the FS manned look out, and the 3 other look outs, the crystal mine is great too.

Yeah I've been to two of the four lookouts, never been to the manned one, or the crystal mines, and I've road 100's of miles of trails in the area, and still more to explore.

So what do you guys think about going to Boca Rest ? No reservations needed in October, dry camping, but does have tables and fire pits, plenty of trails to explore in the Sierra's, can ride all the way to Border town for lunch, and out in the desert, also some good forest riding. Just putting it out there for discussion it's a lot closer, and lake should still be pretty good.

This is a great idea, Mike. Nice campground right on the lake, tons of trails (although most are fire roads), and really easy to get to!

Just throwing this out there.. Moonrocks north of Reno back side of Redrock Canyon. Dry Camping, very quiet except for the trailer that goes up the road about 3 in the morning.. (loading up wild horses)

Yeah right, so is this what everyone wants to do? Works for me unless someone else wants to go somewhere else, Boca just seems easy, we should all be able to camp together. Plenty to go explore.

I heard Moonrocks was closed and given to the Indians. but there was a rock crawl event there last May so...not sure what the status is.
