EPL, Johnycat8, Crazywatson, or who-ever knows the right stuff about 800 engine

I know you guy's know the right stuff about rzr 800

Any-way mine is finally starting to use a shit-load of oil

last ride of 90 miles she ate 18 oz

So if you please, help me out with your vast knowledge on what to do

Keep in mind that I am a cheap-bastard

And I do not wanna put stuff in her un-less I absolutely have to

If its just the Valve guilds than that is all I will do

If its just the rings the same goes

Don't wanna put pistons and jug in her if I do-not have to

And where do I get parts for it?

One more thing she does not foul the plugs using all that oil

    Thank You ahead of time

    ok mr leo...

#1 problem i have seen is worn valves and guides.

#2 is rings a set isnt to bad i think i paid $65 for the set..(polaris sells them for just 1 piston so watch that)

#3 most of the time if the cyl has no scars and looks good you can use pool acid (muratic acid) to clean it up . the acid eats the aluminum from the pistons out of the hone marks....remember this is a coated cyl so dont try and hone out it wont work. if its bad you can have honed at a shop but need to re coat it

parts are not bad to re ring head is a little harder because of the small size ask your mach shop if they can do it. gaskits are pricy from polaris but work great i believe head was $65 alone the eng is soooo easy to work on only tricky part is getting rings in cyl

the guides are most likely worn too... pull the valve cover off and remove the rockers grab the spring retainer and see if you can move it side to side that will be a good clue if guides are gone... some people add the seals to the ex also some dont... also check the plastic rotator under the spring they wear and sometimes so bad it stops the valve from rotating

How many miles did you have on it when this happened?
I have a 2010 RZR S 800. How many miles should I be able to get before rebuild, assuming I don't dust the engine or other foolishness. I ride mostly mountain trails, rarely any sand, usually at moderate speeds (10-40 mph).

First 3-4 years i had her put about 9-10 on her, last 3 year put only 2 on her

Been burning way to much oil the last thousand or so

The only way she held up this long, is I drive her slow and easy

You should be able to get 10 on her if you take care of her and go slow
