    We have 2 Barbara and love them. We have use them about 3 miles apart

    Bah, forgot to subscribe to my own thread! such a noob....

    Coverage, on average, is about half the wattage, so 2.5 miles. In hilly terrain that may drop a bit. It's hard to tell though because I know some people who have the extended range antennas on them and can get about 10 miles. That a bit extreme but for the most part it's from 1-3 miles. They work best when you can see the person you're transmitting to, so if you're at the bottom of a hill and can't get seem to get through, go to the top of the hill and you will get more range.
