If you want to get technical it is SOUTH and a little East from what I see when getting driving directions from Fallon to Sand Mountain !! LOL

You're absolutely right, Ed, it is more south than east. But Hwy 50 is an East/West Highway. If someone is unfamiliar with the area, they will never find a "South Hwy 50" sign or on-ramp. Even though it is mostly south, the road will say Hwy 50 East.
