Check out this map from from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. It's flash flood guidance. It doesn't include our region, but a quick look at the guidance will bring some perspective.

Tomorrow the highest forecast I've seen is up in Tahoe at a projected 0.5 inches of water for the whole day. The cities surrounding our ride are in the 0.45 to 0.3 ballpark, for the whole day. Set the guidance map to 1 Hour Flash Flood Guidance and then look at the bottom of the scale. All the purple places on the map where 0.6" of rain falls in 1 hour have the potential for a flash flood. Notice how you don't see any purple on the map. We expect less than 0.6 over the entire day. I'm guessing it's no problem.
Thanks, you made her feel better about it. Got her a rain suit at harborfreight getting everything loaded up now.

I'm not worried now, but it won't hurt to take a look at the situation in the morning. The link I have direct to the aviation forecaster indicates the heavier rain and thunderstorms won't be until later in the day. I don't think flash flooding will be an issue in the morning.

In checking the forecaster's comments this morning, the thunderstorms, when they develop later in the day, are forecast be north of Hwy 80. Currently at 6am this morning, there is no rain at any of the aviation terminals in the area other than at South Lake Tahoe where there is light rain.

I think we're good to go the Brunswick canyon drainage this morning.

Thanks Ed, it was a lot of fun scouting it out and getting to share it with everyone. I wish the weather would have held off a little longer so that we could have finished it. There was some pretty cool scenery left to see. Next time for sure.
