Ed I would think 299 is better also, 44 it go's way up by Lassen and the ski park, then down to the turn off to Reno.

We could put in at Lockwood, right off I80 if the roads are bad going to VC. It's about a 19 mile ride to VC from there.

Hey Jeff if the road going up to VC is real bad do you think we should have a back up plan where to stage, I think going over the pass wont to too crazy with chains but that road up to VC is real steep.

Yeah Pat, there is an off road staging area I Washoe that those that don't want to dive up to VC can meet us. We will get there at around 9:30 or so, depending on if we have any trouble getting over the first hill.

Ed if we go 299 will just come up and load from your house so you don't have to drive into town.i would think that 299 would be less hassle hatchet mt would be a concern
