COHASSET TO HOGSBACK #1 May 21st

This will be a "Fast paced" ride starting in Cohasset (above Chico) through the Ishi Wilderness Mountains to Hogsback in Red Bluff & Back. How many miles you think it may-be?

That will be an all day ride? Looks like you will cover a lot of distance by the map.

Yes it will be all day because were stopping at some Awesome Views and places to check out[emoji1360]. we will meet in Chico @9:00am and drive up to Cohasset from there about 25min

Yep 42 miles from Chico to Red Bluff by highway , so that definitely sounds like a nice ride !
My uncle worked for Keeler Ranch when he owned from about the foothills out of Los Molinos to Hogsback road just south of RB off 99...
As a kid my uncle use to take us up in the hills in a International Scot , we had access to everywhere back then...

Will this be a same way to and from or a circle back to Cohasset ?

Very cool story! It will be somewhat of a there & back on the same trail with about 20-30ish miles of exploring a different route.

If the weather is what the forecast is calling for high of 76 that day , perfect weather !!
How is the trails ?? I'm only 6 months out from double fusion surgery in lower back .
Would love to get out and meet some great people from here , but if the trails are too rough don't think I could last ??

I was about 10-12 years old when our Uncle use to take us back up in the hills, I got to ride shotgun but I also was the one that had to get out and unlock all the gates. lol
He'd pick us up Friday night and drop us off Sunday afternoon filthy dirty and us asking when we can go do it again ! We use to fish , hunt and kill targets "his beer cans" .
He wound up with cancer a few years later and passed away , since then never had the desire to get a fishing/hunting license .
Still shoot targets and cans but no hunting or fishing ,,, too many fond memories .

Looks like my RZR won't be done in the shop till next week. It's all apart and the accessories won't all be in till next week. So I'll have to postpone this ride to another weekend..... Sorry guys

Since my Turbo is still in the shop we did the Ride today in the Jeep. It's 76 miles one way[emoji1360]. Good timing! My wife & I were just talking about doing another Ride in Cohasset. We're going to Glamis for a few weeks. I'll post another Cohasset/ Hogsback ride in December[emoji1360]

We're going to be making this run with our Jeep group Saturday to see how much Snow is up there. I'm sure it's going to be real muddy. But if it's mostly snow. I'll set up a UTV ride sooner than later. Anyone is welcome to join us this Saturday.

There is a LOT of snow up above Cohasset! 5'+of powder. Definitely a 4x4 Trip until the snow melts. Yah no chance a SXS unless on tracks would have a chance through that much snow. Plus it would be crazy Cold! It was very comfortable for everyone in there rigs with Heaters. That's Josh & Family in the FJ Cruiser!

Would love to come over and do this ride. Used to live in Chico and would go to cohasset to play around in the truck all the time. Would be coming from Reno so keep us posted on getting a ride together

More interested in the utv side of things. My old chevy has 220xxx so she stays on the street. She is retired from her hard 4 wheeling days lol. But my 09 rzr is ready to rock and roll. I will have to look that up.

I also may try getting some good rides up by susanville and Westwood. Grew up there and there is some cool natural springs and trails to see
