Well I guess mine saved me some misery today.
It is in the shop parked for winter, or until I take it to Ben in Feb. I had just slid the garage door down and turned to walk away before the door botttomed out.
I heard a big bang, and went to the floor, I heard a big thump at the left rear tire.
The tubular shaft that runs across the header beam that has the two springs on it failed. Actually, a bearing at the very end of the shaft had seized up. Over a period of years it sawed through the shaft. It finished sawing today. When it cut through it instantly released the spring tension on the failed side, and doubled it on the other. The cable that raises and lowers the door came loose, and whipped across the room like a martial arts device. The thump I heard was the cable smacking the tire. The door wound up with one side on the floor, and the other side 3 inches off the floor. In a genuine bound up tight position.
$300 later it is all fixed.
Glad I had the Rzr parked there.
If this garage door arrangement sounds familiar take a bottle of WD-40 or 3in1 oil and locate those bearings and lubricate them once a year or so. They are at either end of the shaft the springs are on, in a sheet metal bracket that supports the spring shaft assembly, right next to the pulleys the lifting cables run on.
This door assembly is 30 years old, I have never lubed those bearings before.
I won't do that again.
I've been letting mine run a little , and rev it up a bit before I turn it off, to cool the clutch down some so the belt isn't stopped on the hot shives.

Upgrading the bearings from the Chinese bearings. Just preventative maintenance on parts that have been known to fail.

Good timing Bro, Ben will dial you in
Just did 27x9x12 Dirt Commanders, a Gates carbon belt (OEM belt is now the spare), Reno Cycles rear rack and the break-in service.
Put proof of insurance in RZR today
may-be I should have Ben install some of those China bearings in my tranny
Lance, from what he told me was that when they move their mfg to Mexico, they started using the cheap bearings. Idk what year it was, but before 2014. The ones made in the states don't have them. Please Chime in Ben if I got it wrong.

They would assemble them there but where are the transmissions made at ?
They try like hell to keep it a secret where all there stuff is made at
They feel if you knew where it is made at that could affect sales
You can pretty much rest assured that it is not made in the usa anymore
Surely not, nor should it. I like mine and wouldn't trade it for anything out there, right now. I plan on keeping it for a long time and believe that doing this is going to make my car more reliable, given the remote places that we go. When the trans case gets blown apart, it locks everything up and makes it very difficult to retrieve the car. It also means a new trans at 2600.00. I was told that there have been 8 cars in this area that this has happened to. Right or wrong, I needed to have this work done for my own piece of mind

Well I don't know what I have been told, but something must be affecting there sales
There stock took a shit, about 50% down the last few months was $155 in June Now around $80
Sales are falling just like there stock is what we see
I got a call from one of my buddies today, stuck out in the beautiful Oregon dunes another big hole in the tranny anybody that was one of these junkers needs to change these POS things out
There are people that have no idea and never seen this problem with the trans , I'm here to tell you it is true from my own experience !!! My XP 900 went bad but I was lucky and got it before it distroyed my trans. I'm getting ready to do my Xp1000 and XP Turbo , better save them sorry !!
They must be selling them because the local dealer in my area just doubled in size and has a new showroom.
