What is the benefit to the intercom? Doesn't just the radio do everything with the mic? Is the intercom setup with headsets just for convenience?

The intercom is for talking to the passengers in your car. It makes it easy to hear them and talk without having to yell.Quote:

If you have passengers the intercom is the way to go, you don't have to yell to speak to each other and if you get the headsets it quiets down your rig so you can hear people on the radio a lot better also. You won't regret getting a complete kit if you go with itQuote:
