Are you sure that bypass really exists? I mean a way to get from the Cisco campground to Eagle Lake Road (or vice-versa). I had read about it in Rider Planet, but a few years ago a bunch of us searched high and low. We had gone up and over Signal Peak and had to get back to camp (already almost dark- not going back up the west side of the peak in the dark!). And from the freeway, you can see that "cliff" that comes right up to the road.
By the way, our dilemma was solved when my son-in-law got hurt and we needed to get him to a hospital. I used the freeway!
Yes it's there
It is a private trail that cisco
campground routed about 9 years ago,to help us crawlers with green stickered buggies
The vandalism and theft was so bad we would unload at eagle and pay to park the trucks and trailers at the CG
They ask $5 each way, usually only one way though

Cant wait for next weekend! Looking forward to meeting you all!
Just got back from Cisco Grove. Was headed up to Boca but since I read here or ? about they are grading the road .
From the CG to almost where that first bathroom CG with the old chimney the road is good just a couple of spots that are still rutted pretty good tho, pick your line the Cat they are using left some good sharp rocks !
They are grading the roads during the week and NOT (obviously) on the weekends.
I saw two water trucks , Cat, Grader and a backhoe parked up there so maybe by next weekend they will have it even better !
We took the right up past the Wood Chuck CG route, road was ok for me (remember I'm fused from L3 down) for most everybody else will be great.
We went up to LoLa Montez lake and another something pond ?.
Didn't make it up to Lake Sterling/ Fordyce Lake so can't say what the road was like that way.
Dusty as all get out tho !!!! If your not in front wear a snout or ? You'll be eating dust.
Only almost got taken out by an idiot in a white jacked up jeep Cherokee , once again on a blind corner this idiot is on our side of the road we both hit the brakes and he swerves over we were only going maybe 10mph him 25+ ?
So being as the road is pretty decent in most places there will be the ones that will blast up the road.
Ride safe and watch out for the idiots they're everywhere !
Amanda, I might want to join you guys on Saturday. What time is your ride staring and is there a place that I can park my truck and trailer?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is a day use parking for trucks/trailers..think it's $5 or $10 a day...thinking $5
Then you can take the dirt trail.. right up to the last left into the campground (maybe .25-.5 mile)
Who knows what time yet? but probably around 9am I guess.....

Jeff, if you've never been there, two rides you gotta do: 1. straight in to Fordyce lake. This time of year it will be pretty low, and you can ride down into the lake bed (doughnuts in the mud are fun). 2. Up to signal peak then drop off the back side (west) to the Eagle Lake staging area. The fun part will be getting back up the west side to the peak!
It's more fun running the bypass and up the west side to signal
I'm thinking fordyce lake will still be pretty full...unless they really started dumping the water since July 4th
So much riding and outstanding views up in that area, as well as a lot of lakes and ponds to check out
