My wife asked me if I would still go if the weather was bad. "Well, yeah!"

Pick your poison... Dust or mud. There seems to be no happy medium.

Yeah, I can make that for sure. I'll probably have to drop Rhonda off at the Casino first... [emoji620][emoji389]... Lol... I'll call you if I'm not going to make it, but I don't see that happening

Wyndham Garden, that's where We're staying. She's probably going to want to get checked in. We usually come up 88 so if we make it up early, maybe we'll stop at CV on the way up.

Hello I will be there and staying at Carson Valley Inn just make run for me and ill park next to you lol
New guy here so don't beat me up too much ... lol It appears a few are bowing out do to the weather and or others things.
I don't have a good excuse to not show up for this ride , except for I just got my trailer and getting it set up to haul the rzr its an open Aluma UT12 ,,, after 3 months of delays , lied to and finally getting one, I wished I'd went ahead and gotten the UT10 instead.
I have the extra 2.5 feet out back and it will really look ridiculous when I have to haul the Harley...
Sooooo... Just throwing it out there... I started a thread over in the Pacific West section..
Alternative if anyone can make it we'll be headed over to Sand Mountain the following weekend the 15-17th...
The latest for Saturday, which agrees with the aviation forecast for the area...
Showers in the morning evolving to a more steady rain in the afternoon with thunder. High of 53F. Afternoon/evening snow levels down to 7500'. Might wear my Gerbing jacket liner.

We got us a way-good convoy!
You got me interested because I've always felt it's best to respect the potential power of water, and I had the thought of sitting at a creek crossing for a few hours waiting for water levels to go down, so I did some googling. Check out this map from from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. It's flash flood guidance. It doesn't include our region, but a quick look at the guidance will bring some perspective.

Tomorrow the highest forecast I've seen is up in Tahoe at a projected 0.5 inches of water for the whole day. The cities surrounding our ride are in the 0.45 to 0.3 ballpark, for the whole day. Set the guidance map to 1 Hour Flash Flood Guidance and then look at the bottom of the scale. All the purple places on the map where 0.6" of rain falls in 1 hour have the potential for a flash flood. Notice how you don't see any purple on the map. We expect less than 0.6 over the entire day. I'm guessing it's no problem.
Weather Underground (Wunderground) has an app called 'Storm' that has a flood warning selection as one of it's layer options. No flash flood warnings indicated.
I'm in Reno , see everyone in the morning.
