We live in Cottonwood just south of Redding. I grew up riding dirt bikes and racing motocross. I still have a couple of quads and enjoy them but I really like being able to get in my rzr with my wife and have a good time together. So far my two favorite places to ride are Sand Mountain and Castle Crags. That is what is so awesome about the rzr. You can be ripping it up on the sand dunes one day and rock crawling the next without having to change or modify the machine. We have a trip planned for the rubicon next month if anyone is interested. There is a thread on this forum about it.

Hi, my name is Craig. My wife and I live in Kelseyville Ca. Not new to the off road world. I've had several Jeeps (still have one). Have been riding ATVs for more years then I like to remember. I bought my 2009 Rzr 800 two years ago. My wife loves it so much, she sold her ATV and jumped in with me. Its a great way for the both of us to explore the back roads and trails together. We also use it for fishing and hunting.

Sounds like you're from the Sacramento area. Check the members rides area and there is a list of upcoming rides that are scheduled well in advance but there are rides that can spring up a week or two in advance.

Well soon find out, planning on getting the X3 xds (64" wide), and a X3 xrs (72" wide) one for the trails, and one for the dunes! :-)

My current Maverick Turbo XDS with aftermarket tires and wheels measures out at 67" and did fine at the Chappie ride.

My family and I like all kinds of riding (desert, sand, mountains, etc.) Been to winchester bay a few times, sand mountain a bunch and lots of other places around my area. Just got back from my dads elk hunt in northeastern Nevada and used the rzr to help out with that. Have had quads, Jeeps and bikes, but none compare to the rzr. Lots of fun times in it. We are from the Oregon Dunes, (Florence) several of the crazies are at SM this weekend enjoying the desert. We also do a big get together at Shasta Chappie for Cinco de mayo.. We take over the whole Campground.

Since you are asking, most of the riding we do doesn't work well with the Yamaha. They don't do well rock crawling and going slow. It is really hard on the clutches, even with the recluse. But there are people who love them. Most of us have Polaris and a few have can ams. Whatever you have you are welcome to ride.
