Nah.. I wouldn't waste my time buying a new Polaris turbo...
They went to a single throttle body vs dual throttle bodies, and they dropped it from 999cc to 925cc..

And besides all that they're not going to have these things perfected for at least a few years and I refuse to be anybody's guinea pig lol

I'll stick to building my own turbo cars,😆

Here's where the 14 and 15 xp cars get a little scary,, polaris decided to go way from forge steel rods and use powder metal rods,,

In this picture you'll notice what looks to be a crack, it's not, that's how the two halves come apart it's an extremely poor design and very weak rod and also very inexpensive...

And there's companies out there trying to push low boost turbo kits for stock motors....

So when you take the motor apart you fix all the short comings inside as well? Are all the motors assembled this way? Besides the turbo what else do you do to it.

Yes I dress all the shortcuts that Polaris adopted to take in saving money in the 14 and 15 models..

All 14 and 15 models are assembled this way

For turbo application here's a list of what I do

1 carrillo rods
2 CP forged pistons
3 Oringed cylinder
4 head studs
5 valve spring conversion back to XP 900
6 harden cam buckets
7 manual cam chain tensioner

If a guy would want to do the bare minimum to his car the major weak link are the rods I would do a nice set of carrilo rods and manual cam chain tensioner.

I'm sure Polairs has "Bean Counters"
That figured out the ones that last vs the ones that fail..

I'm not saying all will fail, I've seen a few 1ks that have and it was ugly..

The rod bent 90 degrees in the cylinder,it took out the bottom case, cylinder, and head,,

It wasn't worth fixing..

This brings up a point I've been wanting to share with the group...

REFLASHES....and rasing the REV LIMITER,,, Polaris spent countless dollars figuring out the fine balance of what they designed the engine an the rpm limit..


Then you have companies out there that tap into the ECU and write whatever programs they desire and raise the rpm limit and IMO that's just raisin the stakes for failure..
For what,,to gain a few extra hp..

Be careful guys.

Nope they delivered a motor a few years back to my buddy and they dropped it some time along the way and broke the case. So we now have learned to use FedEx for motors. Lol the hardway as UPS would not cover it.

Boondockers makes a sweet setup, its very user friendly, a little bit on the spendy side compared to these regular manual cam chain tensioners

The owner of the car actually had the nerve to call me and ask me to high temp paint the exhaust side of the turbo so it won't rust so I took it one step further and painted the center section also.... geeees some people I tell you..

Here's something that I designed for this car and Mongos car..
With the K&T kit you notch out the front part of the plastics to let fresh air come in to the intercooler.
With the engine cover on,
The air passing through the intercooler hits the back side of the engine cover with no place to go.

Well I'm glad I'm not one of all those other guys...
I've done enough of my own testing to know what works and what doesn't.

Alot of guys think that more is better...

Or my favorite one....a guy once said quote..."those paddles LOOK so badass it must haul balls.

Hopefully the owner of this car chimes in and tells you his experience with STUs.

Now with that all said I run STUs on my cars and I hate them..but that's before I you any better and will be switching over

guys no offense to anybody that runs blasters but I've already proven that this skats are faster tire and a better all-around dune tire than the blasters.

The only place blasters are better than Scats is if you ride in a place like Oregon and you have to drive next to the pavement for a period of time to get to the dunes they last longer when driving on pavement but I didn't buy paddles to drive on pavement.

Here's something we can all discuss a bone stock XP 1000 with Fullerton's top-of-the-line blasters and 16 paddles again on a stock motor..

These two turbo cars I just built run 9 paddle extremes.

If I felt that those 16 paddle STUs would outperform the 9 paddle scats, they would be on these cars..

The more panels you run the more horsepower it will rob from your motor, and I'm all about getting every little bit to the ground

Well guys, I went this weekend to go see Ben and take my car out. Let me tell all of you something, you would be a fool not to have him do work for you or at least talk to him about what you want to do. Everything he told me was done and done exactly how it was explained to me, he went over and above to make sure everything looked liked the factory did it even down to the placement of the zip ties . We took the car to sand mountain and he spent the day with me going over everything from clutch adjustments to fuel settings, I have been doing this for over 25 yrs and I have only met 1 other builder that took pride in what he does like Ben. Thanks again Ben look forward to ridding with you guys Halloween.

I believe it!...when I took it for a few drives up the hill, it was damned impressive....and since then CF has been fine tuning it a bunch more...
