Depending on your radio, the 2 meter 144-148 ham radios will only receive these 151-155 mhz frequencies Rugged Radio has programmed and not transmit, unless you do the MARS/CAP surgery.

Pulling a 32 foot trailer with 2 side by sides inside. Going over Siskyou's pass and a lot of other high elevation climbs. So I think 4 hours is not realistic for me. And I have to unload the Side by sides to be able to sleep. So would like a some what secure spot.

Kevin I'm not sure of a place to stay in Shasta city, since you need to unload..hopefully someone can chime in from down there

Security said 10:00 firm, they said others have stayed briefly at Kennett boat ramp. Officially not over night camping, but if you are there at 10 and leave at 6 when they open dam crossing, you should be fine. Of course this is only a comment from Dam Security, not a recommendation! LOL!!

For those of you that have never been to Chappie, they have miles of mostly flat walking/biking trails along the river. Some of us bring our bikes and go out on the trails in the afternoon after the rides. The weather looks like it's going to be warm. Looking forward to seeing everyone and meeting all the new people.

For anyone needing some last minute groceries, there is an awesome supermarket in Shasta City, on your right part way thru town....can't miss it...years past has had great produce and meats along with all the necessary staples one usually needs. We plan to do most of our shopping there.

We will be having a Cinco de Mayo ride at Chappie again in 2016 . The dates for this ride are April 28th - May 1st .We will have a potluck on Saturday night and maybe a Margarita contest or a salsa contest if anyone would like to. This is a great ride with may different trails an rides we can do . There is first come dry camping there , the cost is $10.00 per night.
