Huckfest 2015 at Pismo beach is on the weekend of Oct 15th - 18th .

I might be going but the last time I went to Pismo I lost my diesel motor in my truck. That was an expensive trip.

Not yet, got the truck back at 6. Going to leave in the am tomorrow. Sitting at GSR sports book watching the Giants game.

Huckfest has been canceled. Permit fees have risen steeply making the event impossible to have.

Towns are stupid sometime when they charge such a high permit fee events get canceled !!!!!!!! It hurts there more them anyone !!!!!!!!!!!!

There was a UTV Huckfest at Winchester Bay (middle dunes) during UTV Invasion and Dunefest, and another one coming up at Boxcar (South dunes) during the UTV Takeover...airing those 4 seaters out is getting to be common place.

Last year they had to pay for a ton of security, extra Rangers and they put on a music concert that evening. Even though they charged $100 per night to camp and the higher day use fees I don't think it was a money maker. So the higher permit fees have killed it. They are only allowed a fixed amount of tickets to be sold.

The organizers are still going to have some jumping on that weekend. It just won't be organized. Of course, there probably won't be any med personal on site in case of an incident. Last year they had a helicopter on call for the event. Another expense.

I think local residents really didn't like the extra traffic and such. Last year they made the entrance gate way down the beach near the atv venders. That was to prevent the huge back up onto the surrounding streets from the year before.

I posted on there FB thread to look at Nevada maybe Sand Mountain. They liked my comment and a bunch of other people did too. Probably won't happen but it would be cool!

That would be cool. It's a lot closer than Pismo or Glamis too.
