You guys have got to check out this new product from Razorback Technology. I am so excited that someone actually created a real time infrared belt temp gauge. Mine is on the way. Will have it installed before UTV Invasion. The below link is some serious informative information!

Some of the people with the XP1000 have been monitoring the belt temp but I have not and so far no problems. I think its the people that ride in the sand that are having most of the problems .

Yes, I believe you are correct that sand is a big factor. I got my gauge installed yesterday. Pretty cool to see a digital "real-time" readout of the actual temp.456457

Just wanted to share that this gauge works awesome. Here is a video of it in action I posted on youtube. A few sun glares, and the usual video flicker caused by the camera, but it give you an idea. This was recorded this year at Dunefest climbing Banshee hill.

Thanx Don!

BTW, am searching for a plate with 2 gauge holes and 2 switch holes for the gauge panel, and not had good luck...can't find anything in Mantra green nor black...just white and yellow. Turnkey was the only one I could find, but non are available. You know of a supplier that may have one? Thanx!

I won one of those in Idaho. I know there awesome gauges. I don't have an belt issues myself. I sold it to Mike MotoSX he's going to put it on his turbo rzr. Should be interesting to see what his belt is doing.

Small jobs like this I can get powder coated. I have access to a small powder coat gun, and oven.

Got to try out my Razorback Technology belt sensor gauge...
We rode on the sand at Sand Mountain had my big horns on pumped up to about 10Lbs...(I was to lazy to let air out)..the belt ran around 142-145 just out putting around when we started to push it and climbing the highest I seen was 205..at the top rounded off and it dropped down to 180 fairly quickly...
Went on a 100 mile + ride thru the desert and mountains (high speeds & rocks.. ran most of the time in low 120's the highest I seen on the whole trip was 162 going about 65mph climbing back up the mountain..
Now the ironic thing is...I have totally disintigrated 2 belts on my Commander and both of them have happened here at Sand Mountain...on the trails...lol..

Barb, I blew one up in the sand going to the top of the hill. I left the cover off and had no more issues. I know that's not good for it but overheating isn't either

Well that is good to know, I was out riding a couple weeks ago, and mine wouldn't get over 125* so I guess it's normal to run at that temp on regular trails.

I agree Barb, the sand is hard on the whole drive train. You have to be on the power constantly
