Read about it here. No more belt 6 speed transmission. Comes with a 1 year warranty too. Blows the doors off anything Yamaha of Kawasaki have out imo.

I had a Honda quad with this kind of set up, it was cool, you could paddle shift, or put it in full automatic mode, a lot better than CVT imo
Just wish it was a little more sporty

It may be a start to something better but so far I'm not a fan .
I'm hanging onto my Mav, but that beltless drive sounds like it is premier, as long as she holds up to the power

I just don't see it being any competition with the others.

I was at Yamaha today, they had a new Wolverine SXS , it was pretty cool looking, not going to be the fastest out there, but I bet it will be good for trail riding [emoji106]

their is a down side to a manual trans .... to big a gear ratio gap in gears the cvt is allways in the right rpm band a stick just cant do this with the small hp and tq a sxs has thats why they went with the cvt..... they just need to quit useing quad parts and build a larger hd cvt with a bigger belt.

I think with 6 speeds and the torque a 1000 will produce it will be fine. It also has a low range

The honda Pioneer is the first step in a new Honda sxs. They will with out a doubt build a sporty sxs and this motor tranny combo is set up to do the task...
Honda would not design a new from ground upotor tranny combo without bigger plans... It would never pay off

Time will tell , I just don't see Honda stepping up to compete with the rest of the SXS world.

That's the way I see it. If they put this drive train in a new Pilot/ Odyssey they would kill it. They would only need to build a new car around the drivetrain.

This is a brand new motor. If you look at the motor it looks like 2 trx450 motors mated together. There is a lot of possibilities. An easy 150hp na. With Hondas Turbo experience it could go that route. It may be low compression ready to go.
Combine that with a paddle shifted 6 speed, this combo was designed for a sport sxs and will proove to work well in the Pioneer.

It would be sweet to see other manufacturers step up to the plate and give more competition on the others.
