Can I safely run a slip on exhaust on a stock machine without changing or reflashing my ECU? Or will it make the motor run too lean?

I'm interested in feedback on this. I just put a Gibson exhaust on. Runs great BTW and felt a slight performance gain however I got some back firing when coasting.
I switched to 91 octane with booster and it helped a lot and I felt an even bigger performance gain still back fires though under a load down hills
Do I need a flash or programmer?

I bolted on a Bikeman exhaust and don't get backfiring on my stock machine.
Are we really supposed to be using 87 octane? I have been using 91.
No ECU or fuel controller needed, not enough change to matter. Dyno tested and proven.
On the back fire, it is back firing because it does not have the back pressure you had with stock so it is sucking air in most likely.
And go back to 87, 91 is a waste in a engine that can't use it. Actually is lower performance.

I've got a complete set of Dasa Classic Duals I'll sell cheap! Performance was great, just too loud for me.

I have the SLP slip on muffler. I like the sound of it , not to loud .
