There's a little town called Austin past SM that I wanna go to next it's up in the mountain range with trees river crossings, I hear the views are unreal

I really like riding though Dog Valley, and forest around it to Ben, but a 100 mile ride though Chappie is completely deferent experience than that area, if you can make it you will definitely have a good time. [emoji41]

We were out at the helicopter memorial about a month after you did the clutch kit on my XP Ben...it was leaning badly and I stuck a bunch of rocks under it. When we got back to camp I called Fallon NAS and told the public info desk that the condition of the memorial was bad and if they wanted to send someone out we would take them out there....she thanked me and said they had a group that would go fix it.
It obviously has been fixed. A good thing.

We are headed out to the Mountain about the 18th of May. I spend a lot of time in winter reading and researching and creating maps on Google Earth. We have a few targets to hit that weekend and want to look at a potential camp spot up in Dixie Valley. I have a lot of places I want to check out but would like to get a wee bit closer to them...

There's a trip I'm gonna go on that leaves from SM to Tonopah it's about 170miles so extra fuel is a must on this one,but I'll be able to pull up the the pumps in Tonopha and top off,thinking of bringing a tent and camp along the way!

From SM its 170miles, up and over a bunch of mountain range,it's like headin out towards Rawhide,but you keep on trucking.

Ben....I have been looking at that area out of Lovelock for a long time as a target, and Winemucca Dunes area as well.
Did the Ranger happen to suggest any camping areas out in or near the places out of Lovelock? Would like a safe place to leave our trucks and trailers, there is enough out there to keep you running for several days to see it all.

I see you are running your skats on your X3 there. Any issues or concerns with the terrain? I was advised that it is pretty rocky and not to run paddles. Looks like you did fine. We are looking at going there and any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks.You really don't need paddles, there's nothing there that's that big to climb to benefit sand tires, I hardly saw any rocks it's nothing compared to Sand Mountain,when I go back I'm gonna be running my dirt tires.. And depending where you want to camp you can take the 1st staging area that is right off the freeway Or you can go to the place I went to either way The town of Winnamucca is just a stone throw away

We are plotting a trip out past Sand Mountain to do some serious exploring next fall, I will make sure you get the word when we nail the dates down. You'd be welcome to join us, and I think based on your posts here you'd love it. Lots to see out there for sure...I think we are going to do a trip to West Walker River Resort this summer, then the exploration trip in the fall. I will try to schedule the Lovelock area for next spring. There is s ton to see out there too. Maybe do a 3 day weekend at the Lovelock Area then move up to Winemucca next. That camp spot you found looks perfect...
