Made reservations for Boca Rest Campground, getting there Friday afternoon, staying till Sunday, will be in site #32.
Saturday plan on doing some low key exploring on some of the 4x4 trails, maybe go up to some of the lookout peaks, afternoon spend playing in the lake, hopefully it’s full like last year.

Got to look up Boca Rest Campground, there are two different Campgrounds on opposite sides of the lake.

Shade is hit and miss there, you can look on google maps and see were there are trees, most spots don’t have trees, if they do it’s not shade.

We are very familiar with the area and the peaks. Not sure we want to camp in the heat without shade though, so we may plan to come up for the day. Could you please let us know where you are staging? We may take a drive out there this Sunday providing there is not too much snow.

The road across Boca Dam will be closed during the 2018 camping season. Alternate route from 89 North to Prosser Dam road to Nevada County Road 787 to County Rd.

You don't have to cross the dam to get to the campground.

Yeah pretty much, there were a few slow going jeep trails that Bob Lain and I was on earlier this year, probably go check them out, maybe ride over to Crystal Peak, then up to some of the lookout on the way back, , hang out at the lake in the afternoon , probably a short ride on Sunday up to Verdi peak.
