You guys need to pick more dates over 3 day weekends for us poor working folks! We road in July, way too hot and the main breakers for power at all blew! Rode Halloween weekend and it was perfect! I'm always ready to camp there, So count us in. If we firm up a date and approximate number of sites, I will call and see if they are willing to cut us a break on the rates...unless any of you are Walker River members, then all your guests will get a huge discount!

I took 87 and 88 as a reserve but the whole row 83 to 95 is open at this point with 50 amp fh together... I will be there all week so I thought these large spots would good to reserve for us

They have a really cool trap range, all of the launchers are hidden so you don’t see where they’re launched from.

If the launchers (plural) are hidden, it's not trap it's sporting clays. Doesn't really matter though. I can't shoot either worth a darn!!

i've done this ride, well, separate tips. we went from yerington to walker river resort. then another trip, hawthorne travelodge motel to mt patterson. have to ride on hwy for a bit, but its nevada side, not a big deal. bodie ghost town is almost along the way too

So can any one tell me a little about this ride. How many miles/hours? moderate/difficult?
This could be somewhat of a 4 seasons ride. It can be hot and dusty on the Nevada side in spots to several cool water crossings up rocky creeks with a 5 or 6k elevation climb to 11k ft. The weather can change and not uncommon for a thunder shower. Hopefully I timed it right and the snow level has dropped where we can clear the summit. Treking over the summit with snow can be a challenge as its above the tree line and there is not much to winch off of. If the trails are all clear it is easy driving with a few technical spots. The pace will be some what moderate due to the near 100 miles planed on Saturday. The Thursday, Friday runs will be hitting the area trails, mines and attractions . In the past we did this ride out of Bridgeport but moved for a larger campground and the intuition that we won't be having the snow pack we had last year. You can get an idea of it by viewing some of the pictures and drone video from that ride.

anyone boondock close by there are a few places .. willson canyon has a rd side day park side of the river thats just a few miles from walker river resort going toward yerington... but can only stay overnight... then there is a couple of spots up desert creek road out side of Wellington... look on a map you will see the primitive camp but would not take a trailer down that road...also in the town of Wellington next to post office there is a road that runs west along the river that has a few spots to camp and fish...

This is really funny... We will be there (The Jasons') Thursday through Sunday. We usually go with a large group to Sonoma for the NASACR race, but we decided to switch it up this year and go to Walker River Resort. Not sure we'll make all the rides, but count us in as there at least! Look forward to seeing everyone!

D&M.... Do you know if there's access to Wilson Canyon from Walker River Resort without having to trailer the UTVs? I am looking and their site says there's a trail, but according to the maps it looks like a long ways down 208.

Yes there is 2 ways to get there. The easiest way is to cross 208 @ Hudson way, and there will be a trail to left that goes along the hwy.

We were on a big dirt road when we got close there was a big 4 way intersection, there was a sign there that said Bodie 7 miles, then we went though a cool Canyon into the back side of Bodie, hope that helps.
