We could have done the ride today, it was in the high 50’s, sun shining but the wind was blowing about 30. Better safe than sorry I guess.

You just never know, Jeff. We've all been there in the "mud and the blood and the beer". Next weekend, with rain called for on Tuesday and Thursday, should be great!! You know I don't do crowds, but I may have to make an exception this time.

You would enjoy it Barry because you like to ride up there and it's way better when the person leading the ride knows where there going !!

Barry, I’m hoping you won’t be disappointed, we have a really cool route planned, a little bit different than the past, everyone on the pre ride really liked it. Alan will be leading the group one direction and I will be leading the other direction. Hopefully it will reduce some of the confusion that comes with a large group.

Just to confirm, this ride will not have a potluck dinner on Saturday similar to the Chappie ride? Just trying to finalize our meal plan. Thanks!

For any of you that did the pre run, about how long is the ride? I'm debating on bringing down the hauler, or just heading home after.

For any of you that did the pre run, about how long is the ride? I'm debating on bringing down the hauler, or just heading home after. It was about 8 hours which included about a half an hour for a break down. We didn't get back to Reno until almost 7:00. But every second was well worth it. :)

For any of you that did the pre run, about how long is the ride? I'm debating on bringing down the hauler, or just heading home after. I camped, when we did the prerun... Nice large camping area. We took our time, on the prerun, and like mentioned before, one breakdown, at the end, but with a larger group it could take as much time or longer, and more potential for a breakdown within the group.

I won’t be up there to put up the signs until 3:00, I think some of the other campers said they would be up there around 4:00 or after.

How many people ended up going ?? Did you try splitting into two groups ??

I just got home from a great ride, and lots of good fun "around the campfire". Neil was in good spirits this morning, and doing about as well as can be expected with his left arm and shoulder immobilized!
We split into two groups; 12 in Jeff's group, and about the same in Alan's group. What I like about this ride is the variety. There is a fairly long, sandy, hill to climb, about 8-10 miles "up the canyon" (pretty technical and challenging rock crawling), and some open smooth trails where you can let out a little shaft. 74 miles in all. Jeff and Alan really did a lot of "homework" setting up this ride, and it was a total success. Everyone had a great time, although we felt bad for Neil and Debbie.

That was an amazing ride guys! Much thanks to Jeff and Allen for pulling it all together. The diversity of the terrain was spectacular. True adventure. And the sand hill climb at the end was a blast! I think I missed something however... what happened to Neil exactly? Missed that all-together... hope he's ok.

While on a dirt road I went to take a left onto another road and was hit by a Toyota fj cruiser who tried to pass me on the left. I have a broken collar bone and the rzr is probably totalled.

hope you recover quickly.. The broken equipment doesn't hurt near as much as broken bones... Get well soon!
I tried to go over the dip in the road at an angle thinking it would clear the back of the trailer but no... caught a sizzer jack and bent it in half.

The little quad is by Rosso Motors... he got it for his 3rd birthday and cant get off of it. rides it at local parks and yards no issues. 36volt 500watt 3 speed 5,10,15mph run time over 6hrs.just under $500 delivered but much better than Walmart razor.. venom motors makes a bit nicer one thats a tad bigger and faster were considering. also take a look at the e mx and trails bikes by Osset and Kuburg... nice stuff that they can ride just about anywhere and in places you couldn't dream of with a petrol bike.

I know there's a fine line between concerned and nosy, and I hope I'm not crossing that line. Any update from your ortho specialist, Neil? I think I speak for many wishing you only the best!

They are going to plate and pin it. I should be back to semi-normal in about 8 weeks.
