In all my years of riding from Boca rest up the paved road to dirt and riding without a helmet passing sheriffs on the road never been stoped, this Sunday was there and a sheriff stopped us saying we can't ride up the paved road and need to trailer and also need helmets. So not sure if they are cracking down lately or what, but you can ride right across the street from Boca rest into the dirt and your fine just make sure to have a helmet, I guess

That's what we were told also and never had any issues until this weekend. Going at the end of season hopefully no one is there to give anyone problems.

Considering this trip but work won't allow me to show up until Friday evening. I assume there will be a run on Saturday. Never been to Boca campground... plenty of room for my motor home and a trailer?

For everyone that has not been to Boca rest campground, there is plenty of parking/camping for all sizes of trailers/motor homes. And going in Oct it shouldn't be to busy at all I wouldn't think.
Here is a picture of the campground,
if you are on I80 heading east you pass truckee Ca and will be getting off at the Boca exit, turn left under the freeway.
If you can coming from the Reno area heading west towards Truckee you get off at the Boca exit and turn left.

If you look at the picture that jeepalive posted I think we should try and camp on the second driveway into the campground, you can't pull into the first drive to get to the second one, more trees in the upper campground hopefully know one will be there.

Because the Cal fire was all over that channel Pipelayer switched us over to BFGPIT the last outing... but I will check both... I will drive out to see you guys Thursday to coordinate ride destinations for those staying in the rv park or your welcome to call me. Cell service works in most places out there.

No reservations this time of the year, dry camping, some are staying in Verdi at Gold Ranch Rv campground, I'm sure you would need reservations for that campground. At Boca the camp sites just have fire pit and table.

Sometimes the pace can change if I follow and call out directions in route...but when ever with the group and others have lead it is normal for a moderate to fast pace that keeps everyone moving the same. Providing they keep sight and pay attention to the person in front or behind them and wait in the turns. Obviously no one is in control of your skinny pedal.... but if someone goes at a snail pace holding up the ride causing a traffic jam the ride may not get to some of the destinations set out or make it in the time frame set aside.
Keep in mind anyone that posts a ride to share there ride area with the group is Not a Guide they simply do the best that they can!

Probably at least want to insulate your exposed plumbing lines. I would ask an RV professional at a service dept. If it was closer to 30 degrees I would go for it, 20 seems like asking for trouble but Im an electrician haha

I would not be too worried about the trailer pipes in and under the trailer as long as you run a heater at night. I have camped in the snow with my old non insulated for a few days and it was fine. however the water hose outside will freeze up so not a good idea to leave it hooked up.

When we were in Idaho a couple years ago we were disconnecting the hose at night because of temp's but never had any problems with the trailer pipes !!

A guy from my work has been up at the RV park since Sunday, he said it's been getting down to about 27* at night, but nice during the day, he said you can't have any type of campfire in the campground.

Right now he's staying at the Verdi campground, and he said it's pretty full, he's going to move to Boca on Wednesday, we should have plenty of room there.

Great idea I have pm'ed you trying to coordinate a group lunch at one of the restaurants or some meet up spots...
