I I'm thinking about getting aftermarket skid plate but everyone has a different story what ones to get or to even get them so I would like to see what some of you think . If you have them what brand do you have and are you happy with them ?

I have the ultimate package from factory UTV 3/8 uhmw on my xp4 1000 and my dads xp 1000, they work great! The stock skid just does not give the protection that it should on the 1000s, there is nothing under your feet. My brother has a tusk 3/8 uhmw skid on his 900s and it's holding up good also. No problems with anything, slid right down rocks and don't even think about it.
I had the factory utv on my 800s but have not changed them from stock on my last 3 RZR's !! I guess it all depends on the kind of riding you do !!

I just built one out of 1/4 alum. This thing is almost bullet proof. I used the stock one as a pattern. Total cost alum $99.60 plus a few extras, two hole saws for my drill and one blade for my jig saw.. Drago....

UHMW is definitely superior, because if it does hit something hard, it will go back to original shape, whereas the aluminum will stay dented. I think the actual impact strength is higher with the UHMW as well.
All that being said, I use stock! If I were doing any rock crawling (Rubicon or Fordyce, for example) I would definitely go with Factory UTV.

I ended up going with the 1/2" UHMW from factory utv.. but also added rock guards for the body and I have used both..
