These are the places we are thinking about, give me feed back on our decisions
We picked a week at each spot, or do we want to pick a 4th place and only stay for 4-5 days at each place.
The 4th place I was thinking was Armagosa Dunes or Gold Point areas in NV.

Sand, the Date Farm, and 3 or 4 nice pieces of real estate to look at!

Not yet.. give us some ideas
Well Soggy dry lake is off Bessermen mine Rd, Anderson dry lake is off Camp Rock Rd, or you could stay closer to Slash X, gets windy at Anderson, Soggy has more bigger hills around the lake, or you can go just pass the lake up in the rocks, kind of like Wagon Wheel.
Can ride up to Big Bear area, and on to deep creek, can ride to Slash X of corse , there's some small dunes on the way to KOH , lots to explore.
PS I'll look at the race schedule to make sure there's not a race going on that weekend.

Just watched an episode of destination Polaris and they did a ride out of Trona pinnacles California off the highway 395 about seven hours from Redding looks like a really cool place to go and do a desert ride near Randsburg ca.

Just watched an episode of destination Polaris and they did a ride out of Trona pinnacles California off the highway 395 about seven hours from Redding looks like a really cool place to go and do a desert ride near Randsburg ca.

We were camped not to far from them, really cool to see in person. Lot of cool stuff out there , looking forward to exploring out some cool stuff in Johnson Valley next year. [emoji106]

Cool.. We weren't sure where we were staying, however now we do and we got tour guides to show us around that area..
As long as we get to go to Slash X a few times

From what I find online the Terra Del Sol event is March 4th - 6th so it is while were in Quartzite !!

We were talking about when in Quartzsite that we stay in an RV park this time because of fur babies and it could be a little warmer
I searched alot of sites and read some reviews and this one had some high reviews

The map on the site makes it look like it is very close to the dry camping we did 2 years ago. Right on the same wash (the one that Tony blasted through at about 75 mph right before the cops showed up in camp.......... but that's another story!) that we were camped near.
We are good with either dry camping or the RV park with hookups. When you say "it could be a little warmer", do you mean weather will be warmer, so we would have AC with hookups?
Can't wait...... is this really our next ride?

I emailed Quail Run RV park and asked about availability March 1st to 8th and they said they have space
What is everyone thoughts??

I made my reservations at Quail Run RV
Arriving March 1st leaving on the 8th
Say you are with UTV Crazy and they will put us all together
Also they don't take dogs over 30 lbs
I told them Hotrod was the shortest but weighed the most... lol

How picky do you think they are on the dog weight? Lacy is about 37 pounds.

You can purchase a pass in Baker before you go out to Dumont or just purchase one at the kiosk at Dumont !!

We ride plenty on the hwy in NV but that is CA !! I remember someone getting pulled over for riding on the street near Calico !!

Since it looks like most of the group will be at Johnson valley, my vote is a week there for sure! My main interest is Dumont Dunes, but never heard of Armagosa Dunes. Would love to check these out. Maybe add a week for this! LOL!!! Of course we still have not made arrangements for coverage for our business, so this is a planned, but not committed trip for us. :(

Armagosa Dunes are fairly small.. Jon Crowley does alot of photo shoots ( UTV Guide) there. Not crowded and they have some trails around the area also

And by the way, I can't wait for this trip! Getting just a little tired of the rain and early sunsets, and really looking forward to another springtime in the desert after a wet winter. Should be beautiful. Also can't wait to go camping again, after my hauler being in the shop since mid-September. Will also be great to see friends that I haven't seen since October, not to mention Jim and Tyra that we haven't seen in a lot longer! It seems like forever, since we haven't had many winter rides this year. MLK Day, maybe? Anything on for February?

I don't think they have a location set yet for Johnson Valley yet, but I may be wrong, I'm going to try and make it to JV as well.

I believe this is the spot.34.399982, -116.532987 These coordinates are close. Since there won't be a big crowd, we probably won't go up to the heights. Just camp off to the left after the bridge.From the 247, you will turn North on Boone road and just follow it to camp. It does make a hard left and changes names on the Google map to Barnes road. We plan on getting there early so folks don't get lost and will also be on the radio.I'll post a map and lat/long when we get a little closer to the date.

Found us another town to visit while at Johnson valley.. Pioneertown.. about 80 miles roundtrip by UTV is what a guy on another forum was remembering.. from Boone Road to Pioneertown by vehicle is 25 miles.. need to check out Pappy & Harriets.

I've heard a lot about this place from friends, but I've never been there, this definitely sounds like a good ride destination, there's also a way to get up to the mountains, I will try and map it out, there's some really good jeep trails up there.

Can't find Barnes Rd or Boone Rd on Mapquest. Rider Planet says "Johnson Valley" is north of Lucerne Valley. I'm just glad that we are going to Quartzsite first, so I can follow someone to this stop!!

Aha!! Now I see why I couldn't find it before. Rider Planet say that "Johnson Valley" is actually north of Lucern Valley, and east of Barstow Road (Hwy 18). When Barb said south of Lucerne Valley, I was still looking off Hwy 18 (mainly to the west), which then goes into Big Bear City and Big Bear Lake. 247 goes south east to Yucca Valley, and Boone Rd is east of 247!!
But I'm still not sure I'll find camp, because I'm used to looking for this great big Green trailer............

You guys will love Pioneertown. Lots of old Western's were filmed there. I actually grew up 10 miles from there in Yucca Valley. My wife and I got married at Pappy and Harriets in 2004. They used to do a live gunfight show on Saturdays on Main Street. From Pioneertown you can go up burns canyon all the way to Big Bear up in the snow. I used to do that on my motorcycle as a teenager.

I'm with you Barry! I'd just park the SXS in front of the trailer for show and relax most of the week in my hammock most of the time if I had my choice.

The directions to Camping at Johnson Valley
I believe this is the spot.34.399982, -116.532987 These coordinates are close. Since there won't be a big crowd, we probably won't go up to the heights. Just camp off to the left after the bridge.From the 247, you will turn North on Boone road and just follow it to camp. It does make a hard left and changes names on the Google map to Barnes road. We plan on getting there early so folks don't get lost and will also be on the radio.I'll post a map and lat/long when we get a little closer to the date.

We drove through Johnson Valley yesterday..let's hope the wind dies down a bit.. glad we decided to fill our fresh water before we left Tehachapi.. the extra weight helped

Quadloco (Robert) & Beverly arrived last night parked their rig and left this morning for Phoenix for a few days of Spring traing (baseball) they will be back to join us on Tuesday

Last year I had problems finding water, started looking as soon as I got on 58, the places I filled before all had so kind of issues, maybe the drought had something to do with it, I filled my tank all the way up at home this time, see ya tomorrow afternoon.
