MONTANA - Public Input Sought on BLM Little Rockies Travel Management Plan
*
Dear BRC Action Alert Subscriber,

The Bureau of Land Management Malta Field Office is seeking public input about the Little Rockies Travel Management Plan. The BLM is looking for input on motorized vehicle, off-highway vehicle, snowmobile and non-motorized transportation uses on public lands in the Little Rockies Travel Management Planning Area of Phillips County. The 30-day scoping period began on April 5, 2016, and will end May 4, 2016.
*
Maps of the current management plan and the range of potential alternatives (from strict resource conservation to broad access) will be available on the BLM ePlanning NEPA Register website under DOI-BLM-MT-M010-2016-0009-EA Little Rockies Travel Management Plan.

The purpose of site-specific travel planning is to develop management that will: meet public and administrative access needs, provide for recreation experiences, minimize user conflicts and natural resource impacts associated with roads and trails and be financially affordable to maintain.
*
The BLM expects to make an environmental assessment of the travel management alternatives available for comment by January 2017. The BLM intends to complete the decision process and travel management plan in the spring of 2017.
*
For more information, to comment or to provide an option for consideration, contact the Project Lead, Kirsten Boyle at 406-262-2829, kboyle@blm.gov, or BLM Havre Field Office, 3990 Hwy 2 W., Havre, MT 59501.

Thanks in advance and, as always, if you have any questions or concerns, please contact BRC.
