Already have my Bighorn 2.0 sold on my new XDS so I am in the market for a good all around 8 ply tire.
Do everything from rock crawling to forest trails to haul butt fire roads. Been kind of looking at the Dirt Commander but it's not a radial and was always told a bias never rides as good as a radial.

Sold them the same day I brought the xds home to a guy down in the Sacramento area.
Just need to figure out a good replacement.

I have the Pro crawlers on my XP 1000 and like them . A few friends have put the Tensors on there's and they like them , they look like a good tire so far .

Did you happen to weigh the crawlers vs the big horns that you replaced?

No sorry I didn't . To me for riding on the trails , fire roads etc a couple of pounds isn't going to make a difference I just want something that is going to get a flat every time I turn around.

They are a good tire..just not DOT approved.. I am in need of replacing my bighorns ( like my bighorns cause I don't have to change tires from desert to sand) but with the rock crawling we did in CA last time I'm needing to step up in tire size...I will probably be going with the Tensors.. Washrepair has them on his XP and has had no problems plus he got to ride in Yellowstone

Wonder if Tensors would be aggressive enough for an all around tire. I tried Mongrels on my 900 XP but went back to the stock big horns.
Really like the Bighorn 1.0 but they are only a six ply. I like the looks of the Dirt Commanders and they are 8 ply but only bias.

GMZ Kahuna? They are DOT. Only know one person that is running them, but he is pretty happy. Definitely want 30", especially after seeing your XDS after the last ride!! LOL!!

I just put the 30x10x11 arisins tire on my xds. One trip on them so far in the deep snow and they did pretty good. A lot better than my buddy with a set of 30" mongrels on. 1560

I think that is the price I found when i was checking into them. I'm going with the Moto Crawlers that I have on the XP 1000 , i don't really need a DOT approved tire and i like the wider thread which seems to protect the side walls better .

Do either one of those places require DOT tires ? I would think if they did there would be more things we would need then tires !!

Some of Oregon Does, and I know from Washrepair that they require them to enter Yellowstone..
I'm just looking into the future that since some of the States, Counties & Cities are allowing SXS on the streets that the opposition from certain organizations are going to say..they are tearing up said areas because they aren't running DOT tires..

I think by the time we go to Yellowstone are going to be not letting SXS's in at all !!!!! I'm sticking with tires that do what i want them to do , don't really care about driving on the streets because for the most parts there going to require more then DOT approved tires and I won't have what they want any way !!! If they let us license our SXS's and part of it is to have a DOT approved tire then I'll deal with it !!

Because for us that don't want to change tires from one terrain to street terrain...In Oregon we are getting cities that allow us to ride on the streets but we need DOT tires...
I'm glad to see that several tire manufacturers realize this and is giving us options

I was looking at the Moto hammers, and the reviews are either the best thing they ever had or they wear too fast. I have the mongrels on 15" wheels for the dot tires, and they do very well in all situations except for rocky or rock crawling conditions. They have very tender sidewalls, and I have ripped the sidewalls out of four of them. Great everywhere else. I'm going to try a set of the pro armor crawlers because I've seen EPL's car run them in the same condition with no issues, except for they won't stop in 35' going 50, but still look like they perform ver well..
